Welcome to Northern Colombia

We have arrived in the gorgeous town in Northern Colombia of Cartegena. We are staying at the wonderful Hostal Boutique Borbon St. It is a lovely hostel which we would quite happily have stayed in for a very long time, unfortunately we were only there for three nights. We also got 50% off at the restaurant upstairs which made the stay even better.

We spent a lovely three days walking around the UNESCO World Heitage Proteced Old Town of Cartegena. We took photos with the Palenqueras, went to the Art Museum, walked the beautiful streets and admired the Architecture. We went shopping, ate good food and drank good coffee. We became firm believers of the Siesta, and spent the hottest part of the day napping and swimming in the pool at the hostel.

It was the perfect three day escape from the maddness and full on adventure that was the Inca Trail and the Salt Flats.
